Hi Guys

I'll be doing my cam timing at some point, so started collecting some tools that I will need for the job. One of which is a timing disc.

Now I'm not usually such a tight git, but I refuse to pay for something as simple as this. So I knocked one together at lunchtime.

Here it is... The TM Cam timing disc

Feel free to use/distribute it as you please.

Enjoy

Also, if you have any comments on how this could be improved or any additions that would benefit (Typical cam timings? instructions? etc). Please let me know and I'll update it.

Personally - I think it's a little small - as most of them seem to be.
Why not make it so it'll just fit onto a piece of A4 with 0.6 margins or similar.

Aside from that, well done. Great contribution.

I also felt that it was a little bit on the small side. It should be easier to take a reading with a larger disc. I personally will be printing it about 2x this size. But, I wanted this to be as universal as possible, and as most people will be running these on A4 printers (the printable area varies between these so much) this seemed a good compromise.

If you have a larger format printer, this can be upscaled. Instead of a fixed hole in the centre I have made multiple rings 1mm apart. These will help when centering the disc on the crank pulley if enlarged.

Thank you, used it tonight. Btw it comes up very quickly on google, about 2nd or third result and the first usable one :)
As for improvements a direction arrow would be very reasuring for us not so experienced engine builders :)

Good to know it's still in use. What would you like the arrow(s) to indicate. Direction of engine rotation?
