This has been a long time in the making. Sounds like it should do the business though. What pistons are you using BTW? http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

Best of luck Joe. I read alot of your posts about 12G295s when I was speccing mine. I did always wonder what happened to the engine. I assumed it was build and all ![]() P.S. Oil jets are a right ball-pain on small bores (as are most things). I would think long and hard before commiting to them. yeah, im planning on beating Tom Fentons record for TMs longest build lol ill be drilling the 'main bearings' oil feeds to provide undercrown cooling (ala nic) which should bypass the need for drilling/tapping the main gallery, as i can imagine its a fooking nightmare on the small bore "Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun"

Don't you dare skim a 12G295 ![]() well, to rough it out (998/4)/(28cc+3hgandrl+6pd) 249.5/37 = 6.75:1 as opposed to the 8:1 before....what other choice do I have? "Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun"

Im not thrilled about having to skim it paul, as it took me nearly a year to find a fresh casting (nos) at half reasonable money, since which has had about £300 worth of bits/work done to it :(

The pistons are stamped 20528. Standard early A+ 998 pistons. Full skirt rather than the later press fit slipper jobbies.

You are right, none of the 998 heads had 11 studs. I'm not even sure if you can drill through, you might just end up in the water jacket.
Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Whil is right if you drill trough you will hit the water jacket you can drill a 18mm hole and tap it M19 then screw and locktite that in and drill your hole trough that but a lot of work for little return. On 17th Feb, 2009 Rob H said:
