I thought the youngsters may like to see some interesting artiles from Fast Car circa 1988/89/90 and the oldies remember the good old times! - was sorting out some stuff in the loft and re-found them!

- I always liked the style of the blue/white Metty

- feature on fitting nos to a metty turbo

The best modified Mini Comp! (Martin Hadland of Rwyland Motorsports turbo won!)

And a super selection an a dyno shoot out - and as far as I know the only feature with DAVID VIZARDS (or Sams!) mini on the rollers!! - where is this car now????

sorry for the size - enjoy!!

JK

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

i have i think it was the 1st copy of REV's magazine with a 1380 mini 30 in it, classic buckets the lot, mk1golf gti's & a really nice all blk square shap escort xr3i with the finned cvh cam cover!

the days when the differances between street machine, revs, fast car etc was'nt so great!

i have some 70's & 80's street machine mags when it was all about oval windows & metalflake paint, capri's jacked up super high on the back & low on the front hmmmmmmm........

it all needs to come back soon!

SKYLINES ARE LIKE CLITS, EVERY FLANGE SEEMS TO HAVE ONE: see this sticker on my silvia

the Search-section on this forum is blummin superb & simple to use, unlike some other forums, without the search-section & the help of this bunch of chaps on here i'll never be able to !!!Start the day with a 998cc turbo!!! :) i'm getting closer though!

Tom Fenton says: I have it all, make me an offer

hahaha ive got that one with the metro with nitrous in, is it a gold cortina on the cover?

I love that car of jason kings, it was in mini world recently with a turbo, but it had been ruined in my opinion (just because it wasnt what it used to be)

I have a stack about 4 foot high of old mags from the era - these ones were near the top!

I just think they were more of an honest approach to journalism than we have now with good techie features. Fast car used to actually test its feature cars as well, the usual 0-60, top speed etc. you could soon see wether these 300bhp cars were real power or pub ponies!

CCC was the first Car Mag I bought when I was 16, and I bought every one since, untill its demise, shame really.

We need some one to take the initiative and start doing the jouralism in the same format!!!

Proof that all the best tuners start with Minis - Martin Hadland (green turbo min - won best mini that year)is the man behind Reyland Motorsport and all the loopy YB powered creations like the green Mondo whick took the lnd speed record for towing a caravan etc!

Nic - I can't imagine what you're thinking.lol

Bit of a post resurection! I was thinking back to my early days getting into minis and the cars that me. One particular car was Martin Hadland's turbo in Fastcar magazine above. A bit of research to find the article brings me straight back here to good old TM!

So, what got you all into minis and what inspired you?

I just always wanted a mini as my first car, me old dear had a K reg 850 on 10x6 wellers and a centre exit cherry bomb when i was young and I always loved it.

the 2 feature cars that made me want a turbo'd clubman were Adrian Knights blue/purple clubby and Matt's willy *wink*
